Forensics

Glass ampoules are used frequently as containers for different compounds and agents in forensics laboratories and research facilities. They are used virtually all the time making them an important component of forensics studies. However, by using glass ampoules there is the ever present risk of sharps accidents for the lab technicians and researchers.

Apart from breakage, which could result in sharps injuries, ampoules are also prone to getting knocked over causing their contents to get spilled. In forensics labs, technicians usually extract compounds from the ampoules by using a pipette or syringe. If unsupported, this presents the risk of the ampoule tipping on its side and either breaking or spilling the compound contained within. This not only exposes the staff using ampoules to injury from broken glass, but also to sensitive chemicals. Why risk exposing your staff to such injuries?

How can you avoid sharps injuries?

Our line of ampoule openers makes it easy, quick, and completely safe to open glass ampoules any time. AO Ampoule Opener and AO+ Ampoule Opener have an impressive array of features (click here to see a full competitive comparison).

  • Completely eliminate injuries from broken glass, even during disposal
  • Reduce unnecessary exposure to ampoule contents and drugs
  • Avoid the risk of spillage
  • Enable easy tracking of ampoules and syringes
  • Radically limit needle stick injury when changing needles or when extracting drugs from an ampoule by keeping the ampoule in a vertical position (AO+ only)

The AO and AO+ give forensic providers total peace of mind by offering complete protection from sharps injuries when working with glass ampoules.
